Polonnruwa    rajadhaniya was the kingdom  that ruled the island  of sri  lanka  and severl overseas territories, from 1070 until 1232




 King Vijayabahu, King Gajabahu and King Parakramabahu are special here 

The conins were mostly made of copper,The coins are modeled afterist ruler.while gold coins also existed within the kingdom  and was used,the largely disappeared in the very  last days of parakramabhahu.it is to be noted rhat the coinage of polonnaruwa  shows great resemblance  to that of raja raja iI of the chola kingdom .
 

  The kingdom  of polonnaruwa  can be pointed out as an important  kingdom.m
